The second Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations will be held on 6-7 April 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. The UNAOC is the most important international initiative aimed at advancing intercultural understanding. It will convene a powerful network of global leaders, heads of international organizations, corporations, the media, civil society and youth groups. Government leaders and over 50 Ministers will participate. The President of the United States, Barack Obama, is expected to present on the second day of the Forum. Michael Slaby, Program Coordinator at the Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values, will participate in the Forum to present the activities of the Institute.
